Selling or Taking Orders?

Ok, so I walk into a presentation centre show home recently and hear two people in the den having a conversation. No worries, I continue on and help myself; I notice a brochure with a couple of floor plans and a site plan so pick them up as I continue to tour the house. The house showed relatively well but I’m still by myself taking a look around. I inspect the kitchen, living room, bedroom, I go downstairs to view the basement and come back up…..I still hear the conversation going on. Is someone going to acknowledge me????

I decide to make my way to the door; maybe they’ll stop their staff meeting to help me? Nope! So I decide to ask some questions, all of which were answered and I politely say thank you and am on my way.

What just happened? Are we back to the days where sales are so brisk that you don’t have to sell? Do we just have to sit back and the sales will just happen? WOW!

Other than the staff not asking me any of the following questions – is this your first time here? Are you from here or out of town? What type of home are you looking for? What size of a home are you looking for? When are you looking to buy? Is this for yourself or your family? And on and on and on – they did a great job selling. By the way, if they wanted to call me and ask me some of these questions, they can’t! They didn’t register me!!!
